Sara Edgar joined CashattWarren Family Law after being sworn in to the Iowa Bar in September 2025. Sara brings to the Firm a variety of legal experience and leadership skills.

While attending Drake Law School, Sara was the workshop coordinator for the Iowa Center for Children’s Justice in Des Moines. She developed and maintained the children’s divorce workshop curriculum to provide age-appropriate education for children whose parents are in the process of divorce in Central Iowa.

As a child of divorced parents, Sara has a grounded perspective on both the practical and emotional aspects of divorce and child custody cases, and the inherent tug-of-war between those two aspects. “Divorce and custody proceedings are often the most difficult of times that don’t bring out the best in people,” notes Sara. “I’ve been there, so I know how to help clients stay calm and focused as we work through their case.”

Sara graduated with honors from Colorado State University, where she majored in Agricultural Business and earned minors in Environmental and Natural Resource Economics and Agricultural Literacy. While at CSU, she worked as a legal assistant at a law firm in Loveland, Colorado. Sara’s agribusiness education and child-focused work experience enable her to support clients in child custody and financial cases from the outset.
